Overview
Comtech partnered with Oilers Entertainment Group and Rogers Communications to design, deploy, and commission a mission-critical public safety communications network at Rogers Place Arena in Edmonton, Alberta. As one of Canada’s premier sports and entertainment venues, the facility required reliable communications infrastructure to support emergency services, arena operations, and large-scale public events.
The project included the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of a UHF radio system that provides dependable communications for first responders, including police, fire, and EMS personnel, as well as arena operations teams. Comtech also designed and constructed the multi-carrier cellular system headend room, supporting both TELUS and Rogers wireless networks and providing the foundation for enhanced in-building cellular connectivity throughout the facility.
The completed communications infrastructure delivers reliable coverage for public safety personnel, venue operations, and carrier networks, helping support seamless communications for daily operations, major events, and emergency response activities within a high-capacity public venue.
