Overview
The City of St. Albert engaged Comtech to modernize its SCADA communications network as part of an initiative to improve the reliability and performance of critical municipal communications infrastructure. The project focused on replacing legacy radio equipment, upgrading communications technology, and supporting the transition toward ethernet-based communications across the network.
Comtech provided engineering, system upgrades, repeater site inspections, radio deployment, network testing, and commissioning services throughout the project. The scope included replacing legacy MDS radios with APRISA 4 RF Series radios, performing RSSI measurements, validating network performance, and supporting system cutover activities to ensure continued operation during the transition.
The completed modernization project enhanced the City’s communications infrastructure while maintaining continuous network operations throughout implementation. Through the deployment of updated radio technology and comprehensive testing and validation, Comtech helped support the ongoing operation of the City’s SCADA communications network.
