Overview
Tridon Communications engaged Comtech to construct a 130-foot ballasted monopole tower for an AltaGas project at the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility near Prince Rupert, British Columbia.
The project centred on the construction and erection of an ARE AFS 1500 ballasted monopole. Comtech began with a site walkthrough and work-area assessment to support installation planning before moving into tower assembly and construction.
The three-section tower was assembled at ground level. Comtech also constructed the ballasted foundation cage, coordinated ballast placement and used crane-assisted lifting to erect and connect the tower sections. Following erection, the scope included torque verification where required and tower plumb verification.
The project combined site planning, foundation assembly, tower construction and crane-assisted erection to support the AltaGas installation at the Ridley Island Energy Export Facility.
