ABOUT REGINA BYPASS PARTNERS
The Regina Bypass Partners represents several long-standing Canadian companies who work with the Government of Saskatchewan and SaskBuilds to design, build, operate and maintain the largest transportation infrastructure project in the province. It is also Saskatchewan’s first transport infrastructure project completed in a public-private partnership (P3).

THE NEED
The Regina Bypass Partners required wireless network connectivity for 24 locations which included road signs, CCTV cameras, weather stations and a variety of control systems.

THE SOLUTION
Comtech connecting a point-to-multipoint (PTMP) wireless service for the Regina Bypass project in Regina, Saskatchewan.

In partnership with SaskTel, we worked to develop a standard process for interconnectivity and monitoring. First, Comtech performed upgrades, installations and testing to four current SaskTel towers required for connectivity to the camp. Our next step was to install all new radios, antennas, cabling, and other required equipment to meet Regina Bypass Partners requirements.

Overall, for this project, Comtech showcased our services through:

  • Engineered design
  • Procurement of radios
  • Technician installations
  • Optimized wireless link
  • 24/7 NOC monitoring and support

Comtech was also required to coordinate with the Government of Saskatchewan to validate our monitoring prior to implementation.

THE RESULTS
Comtech’s solution and implementation allows the Regina Bypass Partners to confidently monitor road conditions and the safety of its travelers year-round.
