Comtech Assists Carriers in Building a Neutral Host System in Montreal
Comtech (Communication Technologies) Ltd has recently been chosen to assist in building a neutral host system for the major cell phone carriers covering all of the underground stations and tunnels in Montréal, QC.
Work began late 2013 and, through strategic partnerships, Comtech (Communication Technologies) Ltd. has been performing sweep and PIM testing. Through this partnership, Comtech has been involved in the testing of 5 of the 6 stations built to date.
Sweep and PIM tests are performed to ensure the various components are meeting specifications and that the overall performance of the system is impeccable.
A typical station consists of 2-4 RU (Radio Units), a DAS (Distributed Antenna System) with 5 to 10 antennas covering the station itself and 2 Radiaflex cables in the tunnels.
This work is currently being performed by Comtech’s Eastern Regional Team.To read more check this out: http://mobilesyrup.com/2014/09/17/montreal-metro-cell-service-now-in-public-testing-on-the-green-line/
